PITCH PERFECT 2 REVIEW

"Pitch Perfect 2," stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Britney Snow, Hailee Stienfield, Keegen Key, Skyler Astin and Adam Devine. This is directed by Elizabeth Banks, and is the sequel to the 2012 surprise hit "Pitch Perfect."  Let me just say, its 2015, 3 years after the first movie. Now is this sequel necessary? absolutely not, but I can say this is a some what  decent movie. Here's the story.

Pitch Perfect 2 is about, after the bellas have an accident at the college competitions they are suspended, and cant perform for the rest of the year. So they decide to sing at the worldwide competition. Now this movie isn't that good but its fun, it has a heart and in the end I had a decent time. I'm going to tell you the cons I have. First off there are running jokes for certain characters that don't work and get so old and annoying after a while. There are some shots of directing that should cut off but don't. and there are some jokes that basically suck. My last thing is  the villains are awful.  Now here are my pros. The actings decent, some of the jokes are hilarious, and the story overall while typical is good. And while I have some problems I was always entertained never bored.  So overall its fine.

THE VERDICT

Pitch Perfect 2 isn't great but overall is a a fun time, despite it being not good as its predesor. I give Pitch Perfect 2 a B-.

MAGGIE REVIEW

"Maggie," stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Abigail Breslin. This is Schwarzenegger's first independent film, and his first drama in a long time. Its Surprising trailer led me to an even more revealing movie. Here's the story.

"Maggie," takes place in an infected America. We don't know for sure initially that its a zombie infected America. We just know that those who are infected are sent to quarantine, where they are eventually killed. Enter a man named Wade, played by Schwarzenegger, who is trying to keep his daughter from being sent to the quarantine after she has been bitten. The daughter Maggie, is played by Abigail Breslin who was nominated for an Oscar for her part in the film, "Little Miss Sunshine." Wade sends his family away and spends as much time with Maggie as he can.  But he knows, he is running out of time, with few options that don't involve him losing her.  t

This is a very smart drama. It is not your typical action/Zombie film. This is one of Schwarzeneggers and Breslins best performances. The cinematography is great, the score,  the acting, the directing, all builds in intensity and keeps you engaged.  Most of all the writing, is fantastic. I wish it had been longer, and in some ways, wish it had not been so sad. But other then that... it was terrific.

THE VERDICT
"Maggie," is an good drama that has great performance's from its two leads,  its just sad, and too short. I give "Maggie,"  a solid  B+.

TOMORROWLAND REVIEW

Ahh originality... how hard it is to come by these days. Its always sequel, prequel, spin off, or repeat the same plot again. Now when I saw the trailer to Tomorrowland and saw Brad Bird was writing and directing it ( This is a man, who has yet to write or direct a bad film.) I was curious. Why didn't the trailer explain more of the plot? I wondered whether there was something to hide about the film. But I am a big fan of Clooney, and Bird, so I gave it a chance. Here's a bit of the plot for you.

"Tomorrowland," is the story of a girl (Britt Robinson) who comes across a pin that enables her to go to another universe by touching it. On her voyage to discover what its all about, she meets a inventor (Clooney) who helps her on the adventure. And that's all I'm going to say. Now, I like this movie, but its a bit of a let down. A let down because its slow to get started. The films first act is slow, very slow. With a  main character that  is not likable until the end of the movie.  And when you figure out the true motivation of the Villain in the third act of the film, and the message they are trying to hit you with.... it just seems unbelievable. Now what I liked was the originality, the way the visuals were, and the acting. I especially appreciated the questions of where we will be in the future.  How advanced will we be?  So even though I had some complaints, over all I was entertained.

THE VERDICT
While "Tomorrowland," has trouble in it's transitions, its originality, visuals,  and acting keep me interested. I give Tomorrowland a B-.

SLOW WEST REVIEW

Slow West Stars Kodi McPhee, Michael Fassbender, and Ben Mendelson. Its Michael Fassbenders 5th Independent film and his first western. I was surprised he was in it when I saw the trailer. And the movie? The movie was a bit of a surprise too. Here's the story.

Slow West is about a boy named Jay Cavendish ( McPhee) who is trying to find his girlfriend Rose in 19th century frontier America. Along the way he comes across a mercenary named Sylas                     (Fassbender) who goes along with him. A gang led by a man named Payne,(Mendelson) comes across them and the drama plays out with the reveal that Payne and Sylas have a past, and Payne wants to exact revenge.  The movie, while good, has a few issues. While,  the performances, Cinematography,  score, sound, directing,  editing, and a good portion of the script are decent, my complaint is, I was never super entertained. A dull midway point, and a strange ending left me feeling a little like , "Really? That's it?" So ultimately I was a little disappointed.

THE VERDICT
Slow West is a good western with excellent performances from its leads, but suffers from some writing deficits. I give Slow West a B +.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD REVIEW

Yes!!!!! Yes!!!!! This is how an action film should be, not clogged with unlimited CGI scenes. This is Terrific. Amazing.  Crazy and weird, but so good!! I loved the first two Mad Max's so when they said they were making a new one, and it was going to have George Miller at the helm, and Tom Hardy was going to star I got so pumped! He was BANE in "Dark Knight Rises," and he was easily one of the best villains in the trilogy, so I knew he would bring something good to this. But has the film lived up to all the hype and the 98% it got on Rotten Tomatoes? You bet your butt it did! Now here's the story.

Mad Max: Fury Road is basically a sequel. The worlds water is being hoarded by Emorten Joe, and evil scaly freak who has five wives, all young, and healthy and having babies. Its Joes hope he can get perfect children to repopulate his family, which are slowly dying off from a number of causes. (Mostly Cancer.) He is surrounded by an army of "War Boys," who do his bidding at any time. Enter Max, who tries to escape their clutches, (Which means he will become a slave,)  but instead is designated a universal donor blood bag, which means he has to give blood transfusions to tumor ridden War Boys. The War Boy he helps Nox, (Played by X-men First Class Nicolas Hoult) is sent to hunt down Furiosa, a driver for Joe who has helped Joe's wives escape certain slavery. The rest of the film is the journey they all take trying to defeat Joe's army. Who are filled with crazy psychos willing to do whatever it takes to make it to Valhalla.
Now I love this movie... its crazy and its weird, But the acting and action is what kept me. Hardy, Theron, and Hoult all deliver first rate performances, and the crazy weird landscape coupled with incredible action sequences kept me interested from start to finish. Miller obviously loves this story, and if the next one is as good as this... he can keep telling it over and over again for all I care.

THE VERDICT
Mad Max: Fury Road might be to crazy for some people but its acting and action is what keeps the movie going. I give Mad Max: Fury Road an A.

AVENGERS:AGE OF ULTRON REVIEW

The Avengers are back! With a bigger cast, a bad ass villain, some great action and an interesting story! The cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, James Spader, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Paul Bettaney, Don Cheadle, Samuel L Jackson, and Cobie Smulders. WOW!!!!!! Just to think how much bigger Infinity War will be. Now how is Avengers: Age Of Ultron? Is it as good as I thought it was?? Of Course It is!!!!!!! Here's the story..

"Age of Ultron" 's story is built on the premise that Tony Stark feels responsible for saving the world. It comes to him after the Scarlet Witch implants thoughts in his head that he is directly responsible for the deaths of the Avengers. Together with help from Bruce Banner, they build Ultron, a robot with such higher intelligence, that it sets to destroy the human race rather than help it. So its the Avengers Verses Ultron. And in the end, Ultron makes them ask very hard questions about themselves and how much good they are actually doing.
Now of course I love this movie. Its just as good as the first one. The action is great! The story and acting are superb.  It gives hints of Civil War movie coming in  2016 and the  Infinity War film coming in  2018 and 2019. Its special effects are awesome.Aside from a somewhat cheesy kind of forced love story, this movie is pretty terrific!

THE VERDICT
"Avengers: Age Of Ultron" is spectacular with great acting and amazing action. I give "Avengers Age Of Ultron" an A.

STAR WARS EPISODE 7 THE FORCE AWAKENS AND BATMAN V SUPERMAN DAWN OF JUSTICE TRAILER REVIEWS

Ladies and Gentleman... the new "Star Wars 7" and, "Batman vs Superman" trailers are here! Man I was so pumped for these.
The Star Wars trailer showed lots of new stuff, which was cool but it was narrated by Luke which made it even better. It was a confirmation, despite what we new that Luke has an intricate part in the film. And of course, the best part of the whole thing? The entrance of our favorite smuggler with his side kick, Han and Chewie. With a simple, " Chewie, were home," Han Solo reminded us of how much we missed the original story. Its an A+ for me.

Now we have the Batman V Superman trailer. I liked this trailer a lot because it showed the conflict in Superman, and how he perceived by some people as a false god.  I also really love what we get to see of Ben Affleck or BATFLECK. The look of the suit, the way he seems angry and tortured. Especially Alfred,(Played by Jeremy Irons) explains how anger breeds destruction. The last scene is shots of the two of them gearing up for a fight in the rain, and they looked like Samurai's about to go at it. My only complaint, is it didn't really show enough.... and it just wasn't as slick as the Star Wars trailer. But I did like it a lot... so I give it a B+.

Go online and watch them! You wont be disappointed.
