TV VS MOVIES, WHATS THE DIFFERENCE ?

I watch both movies and TV shows, and I greatly enjoy them both.  However, have you ever wondered what the differences are?

Screenplays- TV can go out to 20-30 episodes. A movie can go to three hours or less. With that, being said individual TV scripts are going to be shorter than movie scripts. TV show scripts are primarily character driven, while movie scripts are primarily story driven. A TV show films for five months, and  takes five months to edit and be done.  A normal TV show is about 30 episodes lasting for 30-45 minutes an episode. We get 30 stories in a TV show. It be hard for you to tell me the story of a TV show, but you can tell me about the characters. Where a movie you have one shot to tell one story.

Directors- In movies you have one director, however in TV shows you can have up to 14 different directors. Each tells the story differently. Again however for a show its about the characters. TV show directors tend to film closer because the screen is smaller that you watch their show on.  Where a Movie Director can have longer shots because the screen is bigger.

This is just a start to help you while watching TV shows and movies. My next review will be the Game of Thrones season 4 review, one of my favorite TV shows.
